Italian fashion designer and entrepreneur, founder of Armani, one of the richest people in Italy.

Although he graduated from Leonardo da Vinci high school, he entered the medical faculty of the University of Milan. However, after two years of study, he changed his mind about becoming a doctor and picked up the documents.

For some time, Giorgio worked as an assistant photographer, then he went to serve in the army.  After returning from military service, he got a job as an auxiliary worker in the large Milanese department store Rinashente, where he worked in 1957-1964.  Quite quickly, he was first promoted to a window decorator , and then transferred to the staff of clothing buyers.

In 1961, Armani became an assistant to fashion designer Nino Cherutti.  In his Hitman men’s clothing company, Armani worked on sewing, tailoring and pattern building for the next six years, after which he worked as a stylist for fashion designers such as Ungaro and Denia for some time.

In 1974, Giorgio Armani first introduced the collection under his own name.  In 1975, Armani’s friend, architect Sergio Galeotti (1940-1985) persuaded him to open his company and took over its financial leadership.

In 1989, he opened his stores in London.  In 2005, he launched his own haute couture clothing line – Armani Privé.

Since the late 1960s, Armani had a personal relationship with the architect Sergio Galeotti (1940-1985), with whom they founded the company Giorgio Armani.

The designer owns villas in Forte dei Marmi, Saint-Tropez and on the island of Pantelleria.

Armani is the president of the Olympia Milan basketball team.  He developed the uniform for British athletes, the players of the Chelsea club, the uniform of the Italian standard-bearers for the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Turin (2006).  He is a friend of the basketball coach, president of the NBA Miami Heat club Pat Riley.

Armani is a co-owner of the hotel, located on the 1st to 39th floors of the Dubai skyscraper Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, as well as the owner of the hotel in Milan.

With a fortune of 8.5 billion dollars, he is one of the richest people in Italy and occupies 131 line in the ranking of the richest people on the planet according to Forbes magazine.

The fashion designer is an adherent of the Greenpeace philosophy company.  Since 2016, Armani brand has not used natural fur in the production of its clothing line.

The eminent fashion designer is actively engaged in charity work.  Awarded the Legion of Honor.

In 2004, an agreement was signed with the Arabian development company EMAAR Properties PSJC and EMAAR Hotels & Resorts LLS to open 10 luxury hotels and 4 resorts over the next seven years in London, Paris, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, Dubai and Milan.
